She graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA having achieved the highest academic achievement of the Alpha Omega Alpha Society.
She graduated from the prestigious Walter Reed Army Medical Center Ophthalmology Residency in 2011 and has spent the last 14 years specializing in comprehensive, refractive, and trauma ophthalmology care. She has performed over 12,000 cataract and refractive procedures in her career and serves as core faculty at a Level 1 Trauma Center and Ophthalmology Residency program. She enjoys teaching residents and has successfully taught more than 100 residents how to manage and care for ophthalmic patients and how to perform ophthalmic surgery. She has served as Chief of two large Ophthalmology Departments, at Brooke Army Medical Center and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, and has served as Chief of Surgery at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. She works at Brooke Army Medical Center teaching Resident Physicians and serving as the lead Ophthalmology Consultant to The Office of the Surgeon General, Army and the Defense Health Agency.
She has been an early adopter of advancing refractive procedures, specializing in all refractive procedures, including SMILE, ICL, and RLE in addition to LASIK and PRK, and has published many articles and poster presentations at the national level investigating the best refractive techniques and outcomes.
She lives in San Antonio, TX with her husband, Keith, and five children, ranging in ages from 7-18. She enjoys long trips driving around San Antonio serving as an Uber driver to her children, who are terrible tippers. In her spare time she likes to bake, cook, test out new restaurants, and sleep. Her family attends Cross Mountain Church in San Antonio and feels absolutely blessed that God has placed her and her family in this beautiful city to live, grow, and serve.
